Can someone invite me?
Do you still need an invite, Aimee?
I have it since only a few days ago. It's KINDA like Facebook, but with a tacky design, heh. The problem is that, like Gretch said, so far I only have TWO contacts there so I can't really try it out
So this is probably a dumb question, but is the point supposed to be that people don't know what circle you've placed them in?? I'm getting that the point is that you post updates and stuff and make them only visible to "friends" or "family" or "friends and acquaintances" or whatever... is it supposed to be that people can't tell which circle of yours they're in? I guess that's kind of cool, but I just feel like that's going to create drama and stuff. Especially if/when high schoolers and middle schoolers use it lol.
Okay so far, I'm not feeling Google+ much. I like being able to write on people's walls and tag/see pictures on Facebook. So far, no one in my circles on Google+ is posting any pictures, and you can't write on people's walls, right? I also think the circles/exclusivity thing is going to create drama among younger users, I wouldn't be surprised to see it even creating drama with people my age. I do like that you can +1 websites though, and I like the Google map thing showing everywhere you've lived.
Yeah, maybe when more people get Google+ it will be better, but I am NOT feeling this at all.
From the moment I started using Facebook, I thought: "Hey... There are things I'd like to share with my friends that I DON'T want to share with my family!" heh, so when I heard about Circles I LOVED it. That is probably the only real and "competitive" difference (so far) with Facebook, though it's something that FB could apply to their site as well IF they wanted. And that is why I don't have a bazillion people in my FB account: I'd rather have good friends and VERY few family members than have a bunch of people I barely know, because I tend to be pretty outspoken there.
But the Circles thing could totally create drama: Imagine if one of your friends comments about a picture you posted, and another person you have in Google+ asks "What picture?!" haha oh my..... But whatever, I think we definitely need to give it time... and use!
But I don't think anyone could use both, the same way I don't think there's much people who use both Facebook AND MySpace for example. You'll end up spending more time on one or the other and eventually you'll abandon one of them.
Although on facebook you can have lists and "lock" those updates to just specific groups.... so isn't that kind of the same thing? Although the way you guys make it sound is it is much easier and more convenient on google+...
