    "Born This Way" Lyrics

    INTRO:
It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
    Just put your paws up
'cause you were Born This Way, Baby

    VERSE:
MY MAMA TOLD ME WHEN I WAS YOUNG
    WE ARE ALL BORN SUPERSTARS

SHE ROLLED MY HAIR AND PUT MY LIPSTICK ON
IN THE GLASS OF HER BOUDOIR

"THERE'S NOTHIN WRONG WITH LOVIN WHO YOU ARE"
SHE SAID, "'CAUSE HE MADE YOU PERFECT, BABE"

"SO HOLD YOUR HEAD UP GIRL AND YOU'LL GO FAR,
LISTEN TO ME WHEN I SAY"

    CHORUS:
    I'M BEAUTIFUL IN MY WAY
    'CAUSE GOD MAKES NO MISTAKES
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
    I WAS BORN THIS WAY

    DON'T HIDE YOURSELF IN REGRET
JUST LOVE YOURSELF AND YOU'RE SET
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
    I WAS BORN THIS WAY

    POST-CHORUS:
OOO THERE AIN'T NO OTHER WAY
BABY I WAS BORN THIS WAY
BABY I WAS BORN THIS WAY
OOO THERE AIN'T NO OTHER WAY
    BABY I WAS BORN-
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
    I WAS BORN THIS WAY

DON'T BE A DRAG -JUST BE A QUEEN
DON'T BE A DRAG -JUST BE A QUEEN
DON'T BE A DRAG -JUST BE A QUEEN
    DON'T BE!

    VERSE:
    GIVE YOURSELF PRUDENCE
    AND LOVE YOUR FRIENDS
    SUBWAY KID, REJOICE YOUR TRUTH

IN THE RELIGION OF THE INSECURE
I MUST BE MYSELF, RESPECT MY YOUTH

A DIFFERENT LOVER IS NOT A SIN
BELIEVE CAPITAL H-I-M (HEY HEY HEY)
I LOVE MY LIFE I LOVE THIS RECORD AND
MI AMORE VOLE FE YAH (LOVE NEEDS FAITH)

    REPEAT CHORUS + POST-CHORUS

    BRIDGE:

DON'T BE A DRAG, JUST BE A QUEEN
    WHETHER YOU'RE BROKE OR EVERGREEN
YOU'RE BLACK, WHITE, BEIGE, CHOLA DESCENT
    YOU'RE LEBANESE, YOU'RE ORIENT
    WHETHER LIFE'S DISABILITIES
LEFT YOU OUTCAST, BULLIED, OR TEASED
    REJOICE AND LOVE YOURSELF TODAY
'CAUSE BABY YOU WERE BORN THIS WAY

NO MATTER GAY, STRAIGHT, OR BI,
    LESBIAN, TRANSGENDERED LIFE
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
    I WAS BORN TO SURVIVE
NO MATTER BLACK, WHITE OR BEIGE
    CHOLA OR ORIENT MADE
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
I WAS BORN TO BE BRAVE

    REPEAT CHORUS

    OUTRO/REFRAIN:

I WAS BORN THIS WAY HEY!
I WAS BORN THIS WAY HEY!
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
I WAS BORN THIS WAY HEY!

I WAS BORN THIS WAY HEY!
I WAS BORN THIS WAY HEY!
I'M ON THE RIGHT TRACK BABY
I WAS BORN THIS WAY HEY!
Awful. Just awful. I think the lyrics are absolutely awful. But, it's a pop song, whatev. Some of the catchiest pop songs have terrible lyrics. Although, I definitely think she's taking herself FAR too seriously nowadays. But, the problem I have is that all PopJustice had to say after having listened to the song was "All in all, not bad." That's it? That doesn't sound too promising.

Well, at least they're a little more in-depth than HIAM

OMG. This song has about as much depth as a puddle! I don't care about bad lyrics if it's about dancing or drinking or whatever because then you know it's just supposed to be fun and not serious. But I am under the impression she thinks this is amazing and it's just not. It's taking itself too seriously. The lyrics are just awful. I am sure I'll love the song when I hear it with the music, but she's promoting these lyrics like they're good. And they're not.

And "chola" and "orient?!" Are you KIDDING me?

Omg chola?!? I don't think that's politically correct at all. Like everyone else said, I think this is taking herself too seriously.

I think it's a bit meh and I laughed when I first read it because it does seem a bit "in your face" and "off color" but... that's gaga right?! I'm sure on listen it's gonna be a proper smash but for now I just feel a bit unsure

I dunno y'all. I can understand the questionability of using chola and orient, but I don't think they're AWFUL lyrics. And it isn't even just because it's her. I'd think the same if this was a Britney song (and if it were, who here would be singing its praises? ) or anyone else for that matter. Regardless, I'm hoping the song will be great; hearing the finished product can make all the difference (a la "Raise Your Glass")

I that she supports the gay community, but these lyrics are just horrible. Trying TOO hard to make a statement it seems...

Those lyrics are actually embarrassing to read.

"It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M" ??? what does that even mean?
