What's everyone up to this summer?!

I don't know haha, thought maybe this section could use a little conversation!! Are any freshies going on any fun trips, working a lot, anything??

I'm working, but only like 12-20 hours a week, with a few on-call shifts... wish I could be working more but oh well.

I went to Nashville a few weeks ago and that was one of, if not THE coolest experience of my life. I met so many celebrities, and so many really nice fans like me, and saw SO many live performances. I can't wait to go back.

And ahead of me... just more hanging out with friends, seeing family and running in a 15K roadrace in New York, and going to Maine with family and seeing friends for a week in August. Pretty decent summer overall, however I haven't had a car for 2 weeks because mine died and my dad is being SO SLOW about shopping around for a new (well, actually very cheap and very used lol) car. It's making things tough/annoying (ie. I have to drive my dad to work at 7:30am on a day that I'll need the car anytime before 6pm.).

    What's everyone else up to?!

I'm going on holiday on Tuesday! Can't wait! I'm going with my sister, we're going to Paris first, then Amsterdam then down to Rome, San Marino and across to Croatia before coming home. I've never been to any other countries in Europe so I'm crossing a bunch off my list in one go

I'm hoping to go home for a week too start of August as my mum is turning the big 6-0. Other than that I'm just working until uni again in September.

Sounds like you all have some fun plans!

Well, I was in Aruba last month, which was just ok. It was nice to get away and just relax on the beach, but I guess I kind of expected Aruba to be more fun, haha. But still, the beaches were beautiful!!

Then, in 3 weeks I will be going to Myrtle Beach, SC to visit my cousin, her husband, and her baby. I am soooo excited for this. She's like a sister to me and I miss her so much. I love going to visit. Again, I'll be spending a bunch of time at the beach, I think. Can't wait!

No way!! I have a friend who went to Nashville right around the time you did! It was for her sister's high school graduation present, and she says that she loved it so much she never wanted to leave! I've heard that you gotta go to Nashville if you love country music.

I've actually had an okay summer. I've been to a few cookouts/parties with some of my high school friends. I've actually been drinking beer, and I learned how to play beirut. It's a fun game. It seemed like no one had the patience to teach me how to play, as I had never played before, but I have one good friend who is really nice, and she taught me how.

I also got my first internship at a local performing arts theater. It's only 5 hours a week, but it's a lot better than what I had before (nothing). I still don't know if I'll ever be able to hold a full-time job, though.

Daisy- OMG I'm so jealous!!!! That sounds like an awesome trip!

Nik- What kind of a business are you starting?

Mike- That sucks Aruba was disappointing lol!! I have a feeling I would be disappointed too... like I love the beach, but I think if I went somewhere where it was just... THE BEACH... for a week, I might get bored.

Geoffrey- That's fun you learned how to play Ruit! Definitely a party staple.

OMG I'm so excited... my parents just bought me a new car!!!

As I posted above, my 1997 Ford Escort dieddd a couple weeks ago and the past 2+ weeks of trying to share a car with my dad has NOT been fun. Well, my parents told me they'd buy me a used car, but they had mostly been looking at really cheap, and thus, really old and really high mileaged cars... but they decided to up their game a little bit and they bought me a RED 2009 FORD FOCUS!

I'm sososo excited. I feel so lucky, my parents are really awesome. They're not helping me pay for school at all, and I help out a lot by driving my mom places, so they really wanted to help me out and not just get me a pile of junk that will crap out in another 3 years.

    AHHHHHH

I might get it tomorrow, or definitely by Wednesday!!! I'm planning many beach trips and many trips to see friends from school... with my old car, my parents wouldn't let me take it more than like 50 miles because they thought it would die on me lol.

THAT IS SO EXCITING Gretch! I was looking at Focuses when I was buying a car I can't wait to see pics!

My business is consulting for small business owners and management solutions. It complicated haha but I am really excited and I just got an office downtown by the lake and I hope it all works out.

On the subject of cars, I LOVE my 2010 Mazda 3 that I just got 3 weeks or so ago. OH and I love my new kitten I got for graduating. <3 good start to the summer for sure!

I haven't been around because I've been in school Monday-Friday 8-5 and Saturday 8-6. Needless to say, I've been SUPER busy with school.

I just found out I have a week of true vacation. I plan on going to see Wicked this weekend (it's not my vacation time) in Houston. Then, over the next few weekends, I want to go to San Antonio for the Dallas Cowboys training camp(s). In the meantime, JUST MORE SCHOOL!!!
