Police were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, California to investigate, reports TMZ.
Actor Haim found fame in the 80s when he co-starred in a number of films, including cult vampire film The Lost Boys, with Corey Feldman which led them to be dubbed 'The Two Coreys'.
But in the 90s he slipped into obscurity after a number of his films went straight to video without a cinematic release, and spent time in and out of rehab receiving treatment for a prescription drug problem. In 2007 he made a return to the limelight when Haim and Feldman were reunited in on reality show The Two Coreys.
He had spoken openly about his struggle with drugs.
Haim said: 'I started on the downers which were a hell of a lot better than the uppers because I was a nervous wreck. But one led to two, two led to four, four led to eight, until at the end it was about 85 a day - the doctors could not believe I was taking that much. And that was just the Valium - I'm not talking about the other pills I went through.'
The actor brief dated Victoria Beckham before she hit the bigtime with the Spice Girls.
But Posh says the relationship was never consummated,: 'We didn’t have sex or anything. In actual fact, he didn’t seem to want to try. The most we did was kiss.'
While Haim said Victoria was a rubbish kisser and used to chew his lip.
Haim was due to reprise his role as Sam Emerson in a sequel to The Lost Boys, 20 years after the release of the original film. Lost Boys: The Tribe will star Corey Feldman as Edgar Frog and Kiefer Sutherland's half-brother Angus Sutherland will take over the role of lead vampire in the sequel.
