For this year's "Best Animated Feature"...

So I was thinking about it and frankly, this year this is going to be one REALLY interesting year for that category! A lot of animated movies have been released and almost ALL of them have received endless amounts of praise!

I mean look at the ones we've got:

    Up!
    Coraline
    The Princess & The Frog
    The Fantastic Mr. Fox
    Monsters Vs. Aliens
    Ponyo

And in itself look at the variety there is! Though there's 3 Disney films one is purely CGI, the other purely hand-drawn animation and the other is based on Japanese animation! Then there's the two stop-motion films (which in itself is odd in the time of CGI!).

I dunno, I just think its going to be an interesting year for animation given the nominees and the presence of older techniques of animation as well!

Who are you guys betting on?

I'm inclined to say 'Up!' because I have a feeling that might even get nominated for 'Best Picture' but you never know, some of those other nominees seem like they could be the black horse!

I am dying to see Fantastic Mr. Fox but honestly, I don't know of anyone can beat Pixar.

Up was an incredible film and the first 10 minutes alone deserve an Oscar, if you ask me.

Really, the only contenders in that list are 'Up!', 'Monsters', and 'Coraline'. Ponyo was shit, Mr. Fox is hipster wank, and Princess just doesn't scream Oscar to me.
