    Amelia

I didn't even recognize Hilary Swank the first time I saw the trailer. This movie looks fantastic! October 23rd! One week after Where The Wild Things Are haha.

Saw this last night and it was really not very good! It seemed like the writers had grown too fond of Amelia the person while they were researching it and they had all these quotes/moments that they wanted to showcase...so there is hardly ever a scene longer than a minute - it makes her seem more like a caricature than a real person. I really didn't think Hilary Swank was as amazing as I've seen her, her accent seemed to come and go a lot and I just don't really enjoy Richard Gere very much.

So many gorgeous images of landscapes and flying but the plot seems to assume I know much more about Amelia than I really do - they skip her entire love story with George and before you know it he is proposing to her and they've barely kissed. The CGI stuff is pretty bad too...

So yeah, I was pretty disappointed.

You know, I've been looking forward to this movie since I saw previews for it. I love Amelia Earhart and was so excited for this, but all I've heard are negative comments about this. I think I might just skip it and watch it on DVD.

Sorry Samio, I'd really been looking forward to it too...I actually read a review of it today that REALLY felt the same way about the movie as I did. Here is the link:

I hadn't realized that Hillary Swank could play such an ugly person. :P

I wasn't expecting much when I went to see it, and in that respect I suppose I wasn't disappointed.
