    iMac help!

Ok so. I download .avi files of tv shows and I CANNOT get them to work on my new mac. this is distressing lol

I have tried: VLC, DIvX, Mmedia, and everything else I have seen online. Anyone know wtf to do?

    Thanks

EDIT: I think I got it (I have no idea HOW) But I would appreciate any hints

Nevermind I downloaded the files again and now they work!

If anyone has any hints for iMacs, they would be appreciated! This is my first Mac. But my mom has used macs for years and years.

I need to get used to the screen being massive though. I am used to like 17-19 inch laptop screens! And now I have a 24 inch one. Crazy.

I can't think of any reason they wouldn't work with VLC as it comes with loads of codecs built in...

    http://perian.org/

I use this This should make Quicktime play just about anything.
