    District 9

    Uncensored & Subtitles: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809961221/trailer

District 9 depicts a fictional world where extraterrestrials have become refugees in South Africa.

Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa’s District 9 as the world’s nations argued over what to do with them.

Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens’ welfare – they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens’ awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA.

This is looking really good and I love the advertising campaign they're doing with it! Very Cloverfield.

Saw it today. I HATED it. It felt like a made for T.V movie on the Sci-Fi channel. The beginning started off pretty good. I liked how it built up. I really wanted to like it, but half way through I gave up. Some of the stuff (
    Spoiler:
like the people exploding when they got shot
) was just gross- and it was non-stop through the last half hour. I could not wait for it to end.

RottenTomatoes.com rating is at 88%. That's pretty high. I think I'll listen to them and go see it ASAP

OMG I loved it. WOW! Such a good movie. I loved the social commentary this movie carries underneath all the guts. I'm so hoping there will be a sequel.

Literally JUST finished watching it and I, too loved it! The way the story develops and how they build so much around the main character and take you on such a ride with him was just fantastic! I don't think I've ever seen such a well juxtaposed depiction of a character
    Spoiler:
being both the protagonist AND antagonist
    in one film!

The social commentary, as Mario said, was also very well done! Especially in the beginning of the movie! Towards the end, that aspect looses a bit of steam but its amde up for with certain other elements.

I loved how it was sort of filmed as if it were a documentary. It makes it all feel that much more raw and gritty. The filming style also reminded me a bit of '28 Days Later'- always a plus <3
