Saw it yesterday. I was disappointed. It was just another movie, the kind you've seen a thousand times before.

Watched this today - don't know why people hated it so much! I mean, it is a disaster movie, what were people expecting? The effects were AMAZING and the story line wasn't so bad. I really liked it.

Well, I'm glad you managed to escape the end of the world, Brett.

I saw it Saturday night with my boo. Great movie but it was so stressful. haha. The giant tidal waves are what scares me the most.

What bothered me was how it really was not about 2012 at all. You can believe whatever you want about "the end of the world," but they did not focus on the historical aspects or really explain why everything was happening. It was just scientists studying physical changes going on and saying that bad events were going to take place, but not really why or why in 2012 of all years.

I guess the film was made from a certain point of view, but still...
There was something missing and 2012 is not really a fitting title at all.

They did a pretty good job explaining what was happening in terms of the earth's crust and all of that. The movie was 2 and a half hours long as it was, I'm pretty glad they didn't go into the ~historical~ and ~mythological~ aspects of 2012. It's a mindless disaster movie not a history lesson.

I did not really expect anything in particular when going to see it. I just thought it would be more 2012-ish instead of just a generic disaster movie. 2 hours and 38 minutes was kind of pointless though. They didn't really need to make it that long.

Anyways, the film was good for what it was.

I liked it. Thought it was a little long, but I thought it was interesting.
